Re>Pal Indonesia manufacturing through the crisis

While most of the cases of Covid-19 are in West Java, East Java is the next highest density of cases and of course every manufacturing business, and indeed all businesses, need to remain vigilant to protect its workers, and the worker’s livelihoods. We are committed to keeping a Covid-safe environment and ensuring our staff are as safe as possible from the virus. As lockdowns around the world start relaxing, we also hope our readers remain safe, and maintain the protection mechanisms of good personal hygiene and safe distancing that medical practitioners recommend.

Our factory has been closed through Ramadan and was working 3-4 days a week in May to the start of Ramadan. As we emerge from the holiday period the factory is focused on staying safe and ensuring production continues as efficiently as possible, subject to our order book. Our priority is to ensure safe ongoing operations. I’m pleased to say that in responding to the Covid-19 challenge we took early action in temperature checking staff, separating shifts, ensuring we have hand sanitiser available and face masks are a part of our regular PPE in the factory.

We have also stopped visitors to the factory, and travel has been restricted anyway across Indonesia, and we ensure suppliers are temperature checked by the security gate staff, and physical / social distancing remains in place for staff and suppliers. We are fortunate that we have not seen incidents of Covid-19 and I would like to thank our staff and suppliers for ensuring that they maintain a safe working environment so they protect our business, their livelihood and their own family’s and friend’s health too.
